The Prince Estate opens online shop selling vinyl, cassettes and clothing

A new online store has been launched by the Prince Estate including official merchandise as well as physical copies of some of the late star’s records.

Launched yesterday (18th September), the shop offers a selection of clothing items including t-shirts, hoodies, hats and other accessories, featuring designs from classic Prince albums such as 'Purple Rain' and '1999'. Also on sale will be physical copies of a wide array of Prince records including CD, vinyl and cassette editions of a number of classic albums, the recent Piano & A Microphone 1983 album and a number of 12” singles dating back to the 'Purple Rain' era. 

The online store follows on from last year’s ‘Hit ’n’ Run’ pop-up shop which was also launched by the Prince Estate. You can take a look at the online shop here. 

Last month, the record for the most expensive item sold on Discogs was broken after a rare, original Canadian pressing of Prince’s The Black Album sold for $27,500.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that there is enough music in Prince’s archives to release an album every year for the next century.
