PROTEST FOR LONDON CLUBBING ORGANISED AFTER FABRIC CLOSURE
“Enough is enough”...
London clubbers have organised a protest to save the city’s nightlife community, which is due to take place on Saturday 8th October, following the revocation of fabric’s license earlier this week.
A Facebook event has been set up for the protest, with the location currently TBC. Over 2,300 people have confirmed attendance to the event at the time of writing. Organisers of the event have stated that “enough is enough,” and that it’s time to “bring on the good fight”.
“Every one of us wouldn’t be who we are today without the clubs, bars, art galleries, festivals, concerts, raves, venues and parties,” they continue. “We need to protect the sacred place where we gather. The places where we come together as a whole, as a community. The places where we get inspired and the places where we can create.
“The government need to step up and defend the millions of people’s right to our culture. Our culture is under threat, UK nightlife is under threat.”
Yesterday, news came that fabric would appeal Islington Council’s decision to revoke their license, with the official campaign to re-open the Farringdon venue launching next week. DJ Mag also revealed that the license ruling at fabric’s hearing was not made by a unanimous decision.
