Questlove has been nominated for an Oscar in the Documentary Feature category.
The Roots drummer has been recognised among this year's nominees for his work on the film 'Summer Of Soul (...Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised)', which marked his directorial debut.
The film, which was released last year, is about the legendary 1969 Harlem Cultural Festival which celebrated African American music and culture, and promoted Black pride and unity. It's also been nominated for Best Music Film at this year's Grammys.
'Summer Of Soul' was one of a number of music-based documentaries to be long-listed in the Documentary Feature category, with 'Billie Eilish: The World's A Little Blurry' and Todd Haynes' 'The Velvet Underground' also being recognised. Questlove's film, however, was the only music-based one to make the shortlist for the Oscars.
The Oscars will take place on Sunday, 27th March.
