Rádio Quântica announce queer community music festival, Ano 0

It's described as "the first Portuguese festival focused on the most avant-garde electronic scene through a queer and community perspective"

Lisbon-based online community radio station Rádio Quântica is launching a new festival called Ano 0.

Set to take place at Lisbon's Zé dos Bois Gallery and at ADAO in Barreiro from September 6th – 7th, Ano 0 is described as “the first Portuguese festival focused on the most avant-garde electronic scene through a queer and community perspective".

It will feature "many of the collectives that have in recent years joined efforts to create spaces for new identities, corporeal and sonic, that until recently had been underrepresented in conventional platforms," according to the station's announcement.

Rádio Quântica co-founders and Lisbon locals Violet and Photonz will play b2b at the festival, while other programme highlights include mina collective residents BLEID and Viegas and a panel discussion on how to create a record label featuring thoughts from Violet and representatives of Troublemaker Records.

Earlier this year, we caught up with Rádio Quântica's Violet. You can read that here. She announced her debut LP, 'Bed of Roses', on Dark Entries last month.
