RATED AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED

First awards show of its kind to celebrate UK hip-hop & grime

Last night the Rated Awards made history — as the first of its kind to celebrate strictly British urban talent.

Islington’s Gracepoint venue saw some of the finest in grime and UK hip-hop acts taking to its stages, with live performances from Little Simz, Bonkaz, Ghetts, Giggs and Kano (who scooped the GRM Legacy Award).

25,000 people tuned in live to watch the ceremony being streamed, the brainchild of GRM Daily, in which Tim Westwood fired shots at Charlie Sloth on stage and Giggs paid tribute to Kano’s career.

Kicked off by an electric violinist rolling through renditions of Wiley’s ‘Eskimo’ and Skepta’s ‘It Aint Safe’, the show handed out awards for Best Track, Producer of the Year and Best DJ, presented by a variety of industry mainstays.
