RBMA IS HEADED TO MONTREAL THIS YEAR

2016 edition set to revisit Canada

For its 18th birthday, Red Bull Music Academy is hitting up Montreal this year for a month of its coveted lectures, workshops and music making.

It was last based in Canada in 2007, when Toronto hosted the Academy, and this year’s five-week programme will include influential musicians taking to the mic to give lectures and provide mentoring to its pupils.

The city has a history of artistic experimentation, with disco, jazz, folk, hip-hop and techno all prominent sounds ingrained in its streets.

Past artists that have partaken in the programme include Erykah Badu, James Murphy, Flying Lotus, and Hudson Mohawke.

Applications open globally on January 18th and forms can be found here.
