Richie Hawtin will debut his new live show Close at Coachella

Bridging the gap between Djing and live performance...

Richie Hawtin is set to unveil his new audiovisual show called Close — Spontaneity & Synchronicity at next month's Coachella music festival.

The brand-new 75-minute live show promises to unify the art of DJing and live performance, with a strong focus on real-time visual abstraction of Hawtin and his gear thanks to some strategically placed cameras that will then be projected onto large screens.

The new live show concept aims to "explore the relationship between human creativity and innovative technologies that able artists to express themselves", something Hawtin has pursued throughout his career, especially with the release of his own mixer, the PLAYDifferently Model 1

Following the Coachella debut, Hawtin will then take his new live show on the road confirming he will be performing the new show at Detroit's Movement festival, Primavera festival, Creamfields and the Sydney Opera house, with several other dates to still be confirmed.
