Skrillex has released his second single of the week, 'Way Back', which features PinkPantheress and Trippie Redd. Listen to the track below.
The drum & bass-inflected track from the US producer and DJ arrives just two days after the release of his highly-anticipated single, ‘Rumble’, featuring Fred again.. and Flowdan, and features guest vocals from Soundcloud rap star, Trippie Redd, and DJ Mag’s Best of British award-winning artist, PinkPantheress.
This flurry of new music comes shortly after the artist recently wiped his Instagram account, before teasing fans with two cryptic video trailers featuring snippets of unreleased music.
The first post is captioned "QFF/DGTC 23", which is expected to be the initials of the multiple albums the US producer is gearing up to release this year.
In 2021 Skrillex had a spree of collaborations with the likes of Justin Bieber and Don Toliver; J Balvin; Noisia, josh pan and Dylan Brady; Four Tet and Starrah; J Cortez; and Swae Lee and Siiickbrain.
The two recent releases mark the producer's return to sharing solo tracks. Until now, the last solo release by Skrillex, ‘Kliptown Empyrean’, which he released in October 2020. It has been almost a decade since the release of his last sole full-length solo album ‘Recess’, a debut LP which was released in 2014.
Skrillex, Four Tet and Fred Again.. Will play a sold-out show tonight at Electric Brixton, London, after also taking over the venue on Thursday night. Check out a clip from that party below.
