Space Ibiza will reportedly keep its name in 2017, Ushuaïa owner Abel Matutes Juan has told Ibiza TV channel TEFTV.

Former Space Ibiza owner Pepe Rosello came to the end of his 27-year reign at the Balearic venue when he handed over the keys to the Ushuaïa group in October.

Matutes Juan is the CEO of the Matutes Group, the company behind Ushuaïa. Confirming Space Ibiza will reopen under the same name, he said, “It will certainly open as Space this year. It’s an accredited brand, which does not prevent us from adding another name that will link it with our other establishments.”

Matutes Juan added that no renovations would be made to the venue before it reopens in 2017.
