Spotify reveals most played tracks, albums, artists of 2018

Can you guess who finished on top (again)..?

Spotify has revealed its most played tracks, albums and artists of 2018, with male US rappers dominating the results.

The global streaming giant, which lays claim to 191million users globally, has crowned Drake the most streamed artist, with 8.2billion plays in the last 12 months alone.

The artist, whose recent collaboration with Travis Scott just got a reworking from Skrillex, lays claim to the platform's most played song, 'God's Plan', and album, 'Scorpion'. Drake also reigned supreme on Spotify in both 2015 and 2016.

Other notable mentions should go to Post Malone, second in the list of overall artists with two of the five most streamed tracks to boot ('Rockstar' featuring 21 Savage and 'Psycho' featuring Ty Dolla $ign). He also has the second most streamed album, 'beerbongs & bentleys'.

XXXTENTACION features in the top artists, too, with J Balvin and Ed Sheeran— 2017's top Spotify artist and the man behind last year's most played album— rounding out the list. Ariana Grande claims the top spot for female names, with Dua Lipa (who was recently in the studio with Silk City, AKA Diplo and Mark Ronson), Cardi B, Taylor Swift and Camila Cabello completing the top five.
