Squarepusher announces new album on Warp, ‘Be Up A Hello’

Tom Jenkinson returns to his Squarepusher moniker after a five-year hiatus

Squarepusher will release a new album, 'Be Up A Hello', via Warp on 31st January

The record will mark a return after a five-year hiatus, which has seen Squarepusher, aka Tom Jenkinson, delve into various other musical projects - including scoring music for the BBC's kids channel CBeebies.

Ahead of the record's release on 31st January, a double-A side 12", 'Vortex', will drop on 6th December. 'Vortex' features Squarepusher's own 'Fracture Remix', which some may recognise after he played it during his breakbeat and jungle set for Warp's NTS 30th anniversary takeover. Hear the single, 'Vortrack', below.

For this new record, Squarepusher returns to the analogue hardware that helped him define his unique sound back in the 90s - in contrast to the means he used for his 2015 album, 'Damogen Furies', software he'd spent 15 years developing for himself. Each of the nine tracks on 'Be Up A Record' were finalised and recorded in one take, and are inspired by the chaotic, joyous Essex DIY scene of his formative raving past.

After playing CTM Festival in January and Bangface Weekender in March, in April and May Squarepusher will play a host of dates across the US and the Europe.
