STEVE AOKI IS RELEASING FOUR HOUSE TRACKS EARLY NEXT YEAR

Dim Mak boss to go deep...

Dim Mak boss Steve Aoki has admitted to taking a break from making EDM/electro/pop to release four successive house tracks early next year.

Speaking in a recent interview with DJ Mag (set to be printed in our November issue), the cake-throwing DJ told us the tunes were made during another season in Ibiza, where he grew accustomed to playing to crowds made up predominately of Brits and mainland Europeans used to hearing house and techno. He also said he enjoyed playing mid-tempo stuff, mostly during his Pacha residency and sets at Cafe Mambo.

'With house, it's a different kind of energy," Aoki said, in a recent phone interview with DJ Mag.

"You're not going full force, you have a really great groove that you can stay in; that can keep you in the same place and it's continuous, it lasts longer and it's a different kind of flow. It's nice to change it up. You're not speeding down the freeway the whole time," he concluded.

We're yet to hear the music, but as soon as we do you'll be first to know...
