Netflix’s Stranger Things is the latest original series to capture the world’s attention — and now the show’s stirring soundtrack is now getting a release.
The show is a '80s throwback combining tropes from cult classics like Goonies and Stephen Kings' various works, and has been a runaway success since it was released a couple of weeks ago.
The Netflix original series features a stunning soundtrack that occupies the ground between synthwave and Carpenter-esque analogue goodness and was created by Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein of Austin band S U R V I V E.
The announcement of the soundtrack's release was made last night via the show’s Facebook page: “Special message from Hawkins AV Club: The #StrangerThings Official Soundtrack is coming soon.”
The duo have also announced that they will release a new S U R V I V E album, called 'RR7349', which is out Friday 30th September via Relapse Records.
