Stream a Daft Punk tribute live from Chicago’s Smart Bar

Daft Punk released their debut album, ‘Homework’, 20 years ago this year, and to mark the occasion Boiler Room have planned a tribute show which is set to take place at Chicago’s Smart Bar on Saturday 28th January.

In the lyrics on ‘Teachers’ from ‘Homework’, Daft Punk name checked a number of their influences, and each of the artists performing at the event are mentioned, with Glenn Underground, Paul Johnson, Boo Williams and Mike Dearborn all spinning, as well as DJ Pierre b2b DJ Hyperactive. The exception to that is Ron Trent, who wasn’t mentioned, but will be performing as a special guest.

Rumours around Daft Punk returning for their first live dates in a decade with an Alive 2017 tour were reignited earlier this week after a mysterious video appeared online.

Those rumours were quickly debunked when they started last October, before an eagle-eyed Redditor stumbled across Alive2017.com.

That was before Glastonbury’s organisers were forced to confirm that French duo will not headline the UK festival this year.
