STUDIO 338 LAUNCHES KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN TO RE-OPEN TERRACE

London club asks for fan support following fire...

London's largest nightclub Studio 338 has launched a crowd-funding campaign in the hope of re-opening its terrace area following a devastating fire earlier this month.

The blaze, which took 70 firefighters to control and tragically claimed the life of Studio 338 staff member Tomas, left the venue a burnt-out shell only a few months after it had re-opened following major new structural developments.

However, the club's terrace area (renamed the Atrium after the revamp) apparently managed to survive the worst of the damage, and the owners are now hoping to repair it with public support. Studio 338's musical director Dan Perrin has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the project; the target is £100,000 (although Dan admits in the campaign that it will still cost a lot more), with tiered rewards for donors that range from having your name put of the 'Family Wall' for £5, right up a unlimited free entry for a year for £150 or more.

London clubbing has taken a serious hit this month, with the Studio 338 disaster and fabric's ongoing licence review. Times are tough, but as a community we have to pull through! If you can spare a little money to help the dance scene's recovery, head to the campaign page. And don't forget to spread the word on social media using #letsbuildittogether338

You can also still donate to raise money for Tomas' family and funeral here.
