There’s a festival in a 400-year-old stone quarry this spring

Ensō will run for three days this April

Tokyo-based, experimental arts promoter REITIN is launching a new festival in Japan this April.

Ensō will take place at the Ōya History Museum, a 400-year-old former stone quarry which dates back to the Edo Period and is now used as a cultural center in Utsunomiya, Tochigi.

The festival will host a number of Japanese and international experimental electronic artists including Rabih Beaini, Lemna, Renick Bell, Tobias., Ena, YPY, Yuji Kondo, and Katsunori Sawa. They will all perform at the Underground Stage, one of two stages at the festival.

The other, The Cave Listening stage, will take in sets from Chloé Juliette, Akey, AKIRAM EN, and 7e. More names are due to be announced in the coming months.
