Ultra Miami organisers confirm they are looking for a new venue for 2019

Talks are currently being held with city officials to secure a new location...

The organisers of Miami’s Ultra Music Festival have confirmed that they will not be returning to their usual base of Bayfront Park for next year’s edition of the event.

The news that they are currently seeking a new venue for 2019 follows a unanimous vote in September by the Miami City Commission of Planning and Zoning to deny the renewal of the festival’s contract at its previous home. Organisers had hoped that they could negotiate a new contract but now attention has been turned to finding a new base.

According to Miami Herald, organisers have been holding low-key talks with city officials to host the festival at a location close to the Miami Marine Stadium as well as at a second location of Historic Virginia Key Beach Park, which is close to Bayfront Park. No official plans have yet been set in motion for securing a new location however.

Next year’s Ultra Music Festival is scheduled to take place from March 29-31. This year’s event marked its 20th anniversary.

Ultra recently unveiled plans to relaunch Miami Winter Music Conference on Miami Spring Beach next year, with the industry gathering set to kick off Miami Music Week.
