Watch the birth of ‘90s trance in this rare documentary

Electronic Beats has uncovered a long-forgotten documentary which goes behind the scenes of Berlin’s legendary early '90s trance scene.

Featuring interviews with fresh-faced selectors including Laurent Garnier and MFS Records founder Mark Reeder, the documentary also feature footage from the city's iconic Love Parades in 1991 and 1993.

Directed by Ben Hardyment, the film traces the booming popularity of trance and the city's techno awakening following the fall of the Berlin Wall.

The documentary also includes rare footage from legendary East Berlin clubs E-Werk and Tresor.

There's also a lengthy interview with legendary British ex-pat and MFS Records founder Mark Reeder, Love Parade Founder and trance icon Dr Motte and German trance legend Paul van Dyk.
