Watch Paul Oakenfold and Carl Cox perform at Stonehenge

Relive the magic of the historic event...

Two weeks ago, Carl Cox and Paul Oakenfold became the first DJs to ever play at Stonehenge. Now, you can relive some of the highlights from the unique event thanks to a report done by CNN.

Playing for an intimate crowd of just 50 guests, Oakenfold played a solo sunset slot before being joined by fellow UK legend, Cox, for a special b2b. Oakenfold’s set was recorded and is set to be released as an album, ‘Live At Stonehenge’.

In the report’s interview with Oakenfold, he discusses the reasons the event was kept secret for so long and explains the importance of using such an event as a way of bringing awareness to young people about the history of the countryside and some of its treasured landmarks.

The event was hosted by Universe, the same brand behind the Tribal Gathering festival. All proceeds raised from the event will be donated to English Heritage.

“I am so lucky to be able to share my music from such an iconic site,” said Oakenfold prior to the event. “The energy there will be like nowhere else on earth, and this will be reflected in my music and performance.”

The event was the first of Universe’s new ‘Origins’ series, which "incorporates music, film and performance alongside incredible production."
