THE WEEKND CONFIRMS SECOND DAFT PUNK COLLABORATION

“The remarkably spontaneous sessions yielded two songs on the album”

The Weeknd has revealed that a second Daft Punk collaboration is on its way when his new album, ‘Starboy’, is released on Friday 25th November.

News of The Weeknd being in the studio with Daft Punk first came in August when the Canadian, real name Abęl Makkonen Tesfaye, posted a picture of two Daft Punk figurines sat on top of a pair of speakers. ‘Starboy’, the first track from the collaboration, subsequently followed in September.

Now, speaking in an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Tesfaye has confirmed that track wasn’t the only material they produced together. He said, “The remarkably spontaneous sessions yielded two songs on the album.”

The comment was the only reference made about the second track, so he didn’t elaborate any further as to whether the material would air ahead of the release of his forthcoming album. You can watch the video for The Weeknd and Daft Punk’s ‘Starboy’ below.
