The wild freedom of the ‘90s Berlin techno scene is charted in this new photo book

Photographer Tilman Brembs worked in Tresor during the decade

A new photo book documents the 1990s Berlin techno scene.

Comprising over 180 photos taken from 1991 to 1997, Tilman Brembs' limited edition book Over Rainbows also features graphics from Alexander Branczyk aka czyk, as well as an introduction by Mark Reeder.

Announced just as a new - unrelated - exhibition exploring the city's club culture is launched, Brembs whittled the photos included in the book down from his collection of over 3000. As well as a photographer for Frontpage, he worked at Tresor throughout the decade.

Publisher zeitmaschine said, "Over Rainbows is an analog photographic chronicle of the early techno years (1991-1997) showcasing people bringing this time to life, exhibiting the fashion, the lifestyle and the artists."

Limited to 100 copies, the photo book can be ordered here.

A four-day techno marathon took place in Berlin back in July.
