Woodstock founder says there are “definite plans” for a 50th anniversary celebration at original site

"This is not a done deal yet. But it’s very close..."

Michael Lang, one of the original founders of Woodstock, has said there's "definite plans" for a new 2019 edition of the iconic American music festival.

While it's yet to be officially confirmed, Lang's words about hosting a 50th anniversary version of the festival - which also had outings in 1994 and 1999 - are encouraging.

"We have definite plans," Lang said. "I’m excited. I am indeed. These are plans. This is not a done deal yet. But it’s very close.”

The original Woodstock Music And Art Fair was held in Bethel, New York August 15th-18th 1969.

In other recent festival news, Ultra announced its relocation to Virginia Key.

Last week, it was announced that Stormzy will headline Glastonbury next year.
