Wu-Tang Clan voiced their support for the campaign against Sydney’s controversial lockout laws during a gig last night (February 24).
The US rap crew, who are currently touring Australia, told fans at their Hordern Pavilion show that the legislation was “crazy” and promised to do all they can to change it.
“We heard y’all got some new crazy laws. We going to to get these laws changed for y’all,” RZA told the crowd, after announcing that their afterparty will be taking place Jam Gallery in Bondi Junction because of the laws.
Large-scale protests took place over the weekend in response to legislation banning new pub and club licenses in central Sydney until February 2017.
In addition, under lockout laws brought in 2014, patrons are unable to re-enter a venue after 1.30am, with last drinks at 3am.
