Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA shares new guided meditation EP: Listen

Listeners should find a "chill environment" before diving in

Wu-Tang Clan's RZA has shared a new guided meditation EP, 'Guided Explorations', produced in collaboration with TAZO® Tea.

The celebrated rapper, producer, actor and filmmaker asks listeners to find a "chill environment" before immersing themselves in spiritual exercises designed to improve mental wellbeing, reduce stress, and dispel negative thoughts, explaining that "competitive pressure can stagnate you".

"You may know me as the RZA, AKA Bobby Digital, AKA Prince Rakeem, AKA The Abbott — I will be your guide on this journey," says RZA in EP introduction. "My career has taken many forms, and crossed all continents, and at every stage exploration has been essential to my process. This series of 'Guided Explorations' attempts to share that process with you."

Largely comprising self-help advice set to downtempo beats and lush soundscapes, it's a world away from much of the artist's musical output, both as a soloist and member of the world famous Wu-Tang Clan. Last year, the crew performed a landmark career retrospective show at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Colorado, USA, and saw the release 'Wu-Tang: An American Saga' series two on the streaming service Hulu. Meanwhile, RZA announced a forthcoming comic book, set to land in May 2022, based on his alter-ego Bobby Digital.
