XOYO announces The Black Madonna as second quarter resident

Chicago DJ follows on from Andy C...

XOYO has revealed The Black Madonna (real name: Marea Stamper) will be the club's next resident DJ, running from 7th April to 30th June.

Beginning the 13-week series with an all-night-long "The Body Electric" performance based around electro, EBM, industrial and techno, the Chicago DJ will play solo twice more — first offering dub, hip-hop, Miami bass and jungle at her "These Are The Breaks" party on 5th May, before focussing on house and disco on the closing night of her residency, titled  "Love Is The Message".

Every other Friday, Stamper will invite guests to join her at the Shoreditch club, which opened the year with its first drum & bass resident in Andy C, and has previously given the post to the likes of Heidi, Skream and Jackmaster.

"There is no place like London and no club like XOYO," Stamper says via press release. "In my travels, I felt an immediate connection with the people of this city and the dancers in this club. It was a tremendous honor to meet you all as a guest, but it will be a phenomenal ride to get to know you as a resident. I can't wait to share this adventure with all of you. We still believe."
