YOUTUBE LAUNCHING AD-FREE SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE

Subscription to allow users to watch content without advertisements.

YouTube is launching a subscription plan that will allow users to watch videos without any advertising.

The service, called YouTube Red, will also feature exclusive video and access to Google’s current music streaming service.

The plan is currently only available for $10 a month in the US.

Existing subscribers of Google Play Music, the company’s music streaming offering, will also be able to view YouTube without ads.

Google, who have signed-up 815,000 subscribers to their streaming service, are lagging far behind their rivals Spotify, who have a global subscriber base of 20 million.
