Yazoo return to the fray
The revered electro-pop duo of Alison Moyet and Vince Clarke - aka Yazoo - have reformed for a string of live dates. The Reconnected Tour, which goes ahead in June, will coincide with the release of a four disc box set, entitled 'In Your Room', out in May on Mute.
It'll be the first time in 25 years that the pair have performed together. Massive in their early '80s heyday, Yazoo cut tracks like 'Situation' and 'Don't Go' which were able to rock a dancefloor and the radio alike. In recent years their music has been re-appraised, with many rediscovering the unique alchemy of Moyet's soulful voice mixed with Clarke's melodic electronica. Various bootlegs have done the rounds, and the appearance of 'Situation' on Booka Shade's brilliant 'DJ Kicks' mix sealed the deal.
