DJ Mag is recruiting for a digital tech editor to join our team in London. The position, which is currently filled on a part-time basis, is being developed into a full-time role. We are therefore prepared to consider either full-time or job share options depending on candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall editorial output, tone and strategy of DJ Mag‘s digital tech section
  • Responsible for creating engaging tech video and broadcast content for both DJ Mag socials and website, working both independently and alongside DJ Mag’s video team
  • Write, edit and commission copy for digital tech section including news, listicles, galleries, long-form and interviews
  • Innovate and develop new branded content types to align DJ Mag’s tech section with rest of DJ Mag’s digital partnerships content
  • Be responsible for growing DJ Mag’s tech-focused audience across all platforms (website and social) with measurable, traffic-based results
  • Manage and engage DJ Mag’s tech community across dedicated DJ Mag tech Facebook group and Discord channel
  • Be available to assist in general digital journalism admin jobs (socials scheduling, subbing, proofing) as and when required
  • On occasion, work with head of partnerships on tech-focused brand partnership campaigns, briefs and pitches
  • Assist with presenting and developing long-form video content

Applicants must have:

  • Experience in writing, editing and commissioning digital tech content across a variety of mediums ideally within electronic music
  • A keen eye for detail and an ability to work to deadlines
  • An in-depth knowledge of music production software and hardware as well as DJ software and equipment
  • Familiarity with leading music tech brands
  • Passionate about technology and the latest music tech trends

In addition it would be beneficial to have:

  • Experience of working on tech-focused partnership campaigns
  • Experience of building communities and growing an audience across a variety of platforms
  • Experience in developing long and short form video content with or without a production team
  • An extensive contact list of brands, artists and PRs operating within music tech
