Grooverider Sentenced to Four Years

One of the most well known and respected drum n bass DJs, Grooverider – real name Raymond Bingham – is to be jailed for four years in Dubai for cannabis possession.

Known as a godfather to the drum 'n' bass scene, the Radio One DJ received the minimum sentence for drug possession in the popular United Arab Emirates tourism and business hub on Monday 18th February. He was originally arrested last November in Dubai Airport, when 2.16 grams of cannabis were found in his luggage, which he admitted to in court. Grooverider's radio DJ partner Fabio will continue to host their show in his absence.
