Q&A: MILLER SOUNDCLASH FINALIST LOVING ARMS

Over the next few weeks we’ll be profiling the Miller SoundClash finalists; getting to know the DJs who will be flying to Las Vegas to compete for a chance to play alongside Dannic at Drais! Today we are speaking with Hungarian duo, Loving Arms.

Tell us in one sentence who you are and where your from?

“We are the Loving Arms duo from Hungary.”

Where did your love of music first come from?

“Our love of music came during childhood, as both of our fathers used to play music in clubs.”

How long have you been DJing?

“We have been in the music scene for 12 years. We also producer our own tracks and remixes too.”

What’s been the highlight of your career so far?

“As we are a newcomer formation, the highlight of our carrier is absolutely this competition.”

Tell us about the success as a DJ you’ve had in your own country.

“We both already played in the biggest clubs here in Hungary.”

How does it feel to win your local Miller SoundClash competition? Tell us about your experience in the competition so far.

“As our project, Loving Arms, is alive from the beginning of 2015, it was a pretty amazing news for us. At the very first minutes we were shocked and we didn’t believe that we are the winners of the local competition. We think that it’s a big opportunity to all of the winners in other countries as well, which might not happen again in our lives. So, we just wanna thank you for everything.”

How much does it mean to you to have made it to this stage of Miller SoundClash?

“As we mentioned, we are a newly formed duo so it is great feedback from the local music fans, party people and especially from the professional jury.”

How do you plan to stand out over the other DJs in Las Vegas? How will you be preparing for the finale?

“We are already preparing for the final in Las Vegas. As we are a duo, and we are DJ-ing and producing music separately too in different genres. Our goal is to make a mix of different genres and give it to the crowd in a professional way. We will hit four genres in our set in the final.” 


What makes you unique compared to the other international finalists?

“As we mentioned before, we want to merge our different genres into a well prepared unique mix to fulfil everybody’s taste, based on quality house music.”

Las Vegas is the EDM capital of the USA, with major DJs playing every weekend. If you could meet and hang out with one of these DJs in Vegas, who would it be and why?

“We would spend a day with Oliver Heldens, because his style is very close to ours and what we want to represent in the future.”

Who from dance music’s elite do you most respect and take inspiration from?

“Just to name some Hardwell, Oliver Heldens, Don Diablo.”

How important is it for competitions like Miller SoundClash to give aspiring DJs the chance to show their talent to the world?

“Talents are everywhere! Miller SoundClash has just listened the dreams of those talents out there and you guys giving the opportunity for them to make and live their dreams! So, it is very important! Thank you again!”

Tell us a bit about your home country - how is the electronic music scene where you are from?

“In our country the electronic music scene is very wide. There is no stand-out music genre. You will find trap, r&b, rap, EDM. But nudisco and deep house is also getting more attention”
