PREMIERE: APPLEBOTTOM 'FREAK BEAT'

Monki's Zoo label drops a fiery new track.

When she’s not out playing neck-snapping sets, Radio 1’s Monki is championing new electronic talent from the depths of the underground on her own Zoo digi label. The latest in a series of stellar releases, following Zulu, Baxta and Kalyde, arrives as a two-tracker from Bristol’s own Applebottom, who’s become well known in dance circles for his bouncy brand of house.

Having recently charted releases on Kerri Chandler’s MadTech, Black Butter and Night Tracks, the highly sought-after producer does it again with title track ‘Freak Beat’, which we’re premiering here. The cut throws a chopped up vocal over a deep, zig-zagging synth line with a side serving of sharp hats, providing a solid workout and another top addition to the Zoo gang.
