EMIKA LAUNCHES KICKSTARTER TO FUND 70-PIECE ORCHESTRAL SYMPHONY

Czech producer begins sourcing for ambitious project.

Emika — who we featured as a panellist in September’s Tech Awards — has been busy releasing studio LPs, an album of piano compositions, setting up her own label, playing live and DJing all over the world. But now she is set to begin what she describes as her “most exciting project yet: a fully-fledged orchestral symphony”.

On her newly set up Kickstarter page she’s written: “I've wanted to compose a big piece for a symphony orchestra since I was a kid studying at music school. It's something that scares and excites me in equal measures, and something which I've been working towards for a very long time.”

The symphony, which is to be performed and recorded live in Prague with the Metropolitan Orchestra at Czech Radio, is a huge project that now has just 56 days to go until completion.

“I thrive on challenges,” she added, via the Kickstarted page.
