LISTEN TO EJECA'S NEW CUT 'OCTIV' ON LAST NIGHT ON EARTH

Stomping sounds from the Belfast producer

Ejeca's latest EP 'Avon' is a stomper.

Set for release on Sasha's Last Night On Earth imprint this Friday 6th November, it's not the first time the Belfast producer has popped up on the imprint, but might just be one of his best offerings yet.

We've got the exclusive premiere of the EP's A-side 'Octiv', which you can stream exclusively below, plus we nabbed Ejeca for a quick chat — read his interview with DJ Mag below.

'Avon' is out tomorrow via Last Night On Earth.

Hey Ejeca! This is your third EP for Last Night On Earth, what can we expect?
"Four tracks that sum up where I'm at musically at the moment, 'Octiv' is a lead that I just tweaked live and reflects some of the more electro side (that) I enjoy. 'BACK2U' is more rolling techno, sharp and pumping, 'Kelly's '95' is more Hacienda-style nostalgia and 'Keeperlit' a mellow groover. I wanted to make four different tracks rather than stick to a theme."

What do you think makes LNOE so special as an imprint?
"It has grown a lot since my first release in 2013 and I would see it as one of the freshest out there. Each release is different, but always feels like it belongs on the label."

Talk us through your relationship with label boss Sasha?
"One of the first DJs I saw when I grew up in Belfast, and still at the top of his game. He’s always a very down to earth bloke when I play with him."

Favourite LNOE releases to date, your own or someone else’s?
"I always enjoy ThermalBear’s stuff, and recently Ambivalent’s ‘Portrait in Three Colours EP’ is one I’ve been playing out a lot."

What's coming up next for you?
"I've just moved studio so I'm trying to rethink how I do things. A live set is first on my list as I would love to expand the experience I provide to a crowd and be more off the cuff. My label 'Exploris' is about to have its eighth release so I will be doing a lot of A&R for that over the winter. I also want to perfect the art of making a Goulash and watch Narcos."
