RICK RUBIN IS MAKING A STAR WARS ALBUM

Breakbot, Claude VonStroke and Royksopp all feature...

Disney has announced the release of a dance music compilation inspired by Star Wars, called 'Star Wars Headspace', which has been produced by legendary producer Rick Rubin.

There had been rumours of a Star Wars dance album after footage of Royksopp emerged online late last year playing a new track live that was inspired by Star Wars.

Of course, it's not the first time Disney has tried to make a dance album out of one of its films, they did the same trick with the awful Tron: Reconfigured, which soiled the good work Daft Punk had done with the film's score.

This time, though, things are looking a lot better, 'Star Wars Headspace' features brand-new tracks from Rick Rubin, Flying Lotus, Bonobo, Breakbot, Baauer, Royksopp, Kaskade, GTA, Troyboi, A-Trak, Claude VonStroke, ATTLAS, Shlohmo, Rustie and Galantic

You can hear the tracks from Baauer, Flying Lotus and Rick Rubin below via Zane Lowe's Beats 1 radio show, and listen out for Royksopp's effort tomorrow which will be getting its premiere via Beats 1, too.

The album is set to drop on 19th February digitally and 18th March physically.
