SKEPTA AND DRAKE WORKING ON NEW SERIES OF TV DRAMA, TOP BOY

The Boy Better Know co-founder is working with Drizzy on the third series...

Skepta has revealed that he is working with Drake on the third series of cult London-based drama, Top Boy.

The show was cancelled by Channel 4 after two seasons in 2013, but a US reboot based in Chicago was rumoured last year. Top Boy actor Kano recently joked that Drake was willing to invest $4m in the programme, but Skepta’s comments in an interview with Zane Lowe on his Beats 1 show earlier this week are the first official confirmation of a third series.

Skep said, “We wanna do bigger things than just our crew. Even with the ‘Top Boy’ series and Ashley Walters. Them two [Drake and Walters] have been working closely and I've been making sure on the creative direction wave with Drake about the series, just making greatness with it.

“The whole style what’s going on in London, the sound. Everything about it is real, it's an actual thing that actually happened and deserves to be on the turner. It’s time.”

There is still no official information on when and where the new series will air.
