SPACE IBIZA WILL NOT BE TURNED INTO A SHOPPING CENTRE

“Obviously we want to keep it as a disco”...

Since it was revealed that Space Ibiza would be taken over the Palladium Hotel Group (which owns and runs Ushuaïa) in 2017, the club’s future has been up in the air.

This week Abel Matutes Prats, the CEO of Palladium Hotel Group, quashed rumours that the group wants to turn the famed club into a shopping centre.

“Obviously we want to keep it as a disco, but also want to dedicate it to the audience in which we are now focusing, which will be complementary to Ushuaïa,” Prats told Diario de Ibiza.

Prats also poured water over rumours that the group would like to turn the venue into a new version of Ushuaïa, stating that the club’s license will only permit it to be used for leisure and recreation and not a hotel.

Prats didn’t give much away about his plans for the club but from what he did say Space will continue to be a club in some form, likely catering for a VIP clientele.
