FIVE DEAD AFTER CLOSEUP FOREVER SUMMER IN PASAY CITY

It’s been confirmed at least two of the victims died from a drug overdose...

Five people have died after attending Closeup Forever Summer festival in Pasay City, Philippines, on Saturday night (May 21st). Two of the fatalities have been confirmed as being from the result of a drug overdose, CNN Philippines reports.

Further tests are taking place to determine what drugs are involved, with the cause of death for each victim cited as a “massive heart attack”. It is still unknown whether the other three fatalaties are drug related.

A report from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said five people that had attended the event were separately rushed to hospital in the early hours of Sunday morning. They were all either announced dead on arrival, or later died there.

14,000 people were at the sell-out party in Pasay City’s Mall of Asia parking area. Closeup Forever Summer has previously been headlined by Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, who were recently voted No. 1 in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs poll, as well as Martin Garrix and Alesso. The line-up of this weekend’s event had been kept under wraps.

The news comes after six people died at Time Warp in Argentina in April, which made the government of Buenos Aires temporarily stop granting permits for major electronic music festivals in Argentina’s capital.
