THOMAS SCHUMACHER TO DROP REMIX EP VIA ELECTRIC BALLROOM

Featuring Victor Ruiz, Oliver Schories and dubspeeka...

Berlin’s Thomas Schumacher has detailed a forthcoming EP of remixes, set for release through his own Electric Ballroom imprint.

‘Selected Remixes EP 1’ features four tracks spanning almost 20 years of Schumacher’s career. Opening the record, Brazilian mastermind Victor Ruiz twists up ‘Fangbanger’, from the first ever Electric Ballroom release in 2013. Next up, Oliver Schories takes on ‘Kickschool 79’, released on Schumacher’s first label Spiel-Zeug Schallplatten in 2005, and the UK’s own dubspeeka handles 1998 classic ‘Ficken #3’. The original version of the latter also gets the full remastering treatment to close out the EP.

Speaking via SoundCloud, Schumacher says he had been working on a remix album for some time but was struggling to pick the tracks and remix artists until “certain people entered my life.”

Continuing he explains: “Some of them I only ‘met’ through their music on social media and never in person, others I met briefly, like in a car to a festival and some I started to hang out with and they became real life friends. All of these people connect with my music and I feel drawn to their music and in many ways we inspire each other.”

‘Selected Remixes EP 1’ can be streamed in full below and will be available to download from Beatport on 27th July.
