A leaked document entitled The Rave and Club Culture/Designer Drugs that was issued by the Drug Enforcement Agency in 2001 has leaked online, offering a hilarious insight into a retired detectives decade of attending raves.
The document includes a number of enlightening descriptions of ravers and club culture, including how to spot trance music (“gentle, but fast”) and how “ravers drink Red Bull…because there is caffeine in it”. New officers are also given a potted lesson of “rave culture and history”:
