REVIEW: MILLER SOUNDCLASH 2016 AWARDS PARTY

It’s Saturday evening of Miller SoundClash weekend in Las Vegas. The time has come for the Miller SoundClash finalists to find out which one of them has won the competition!

Arriving at stylish Las Vegas venue, Hyde, just before sunset, we're presented with a stunning vista of the famous Bellagio fountains, dancing above the water in unison.

Usually a nightclub, Hyde has been converted for this exclusive event. The dancefloor has been transformed into a restaurant, where stunning food is served to the finalists and their guests as they take in magnificent views of Las Vegas.

Before the presentation begins, the Miller SoundClash finalists are met by Australian duo, NERVO. The SoundClash DJs relish in the opportunity to catch up with sisters, Mim & Liv, before the awaited announcement of  DJ Jaffer as 2016’s Miller SoundClash champion!

The presence of these producers and DJs who have seen and achieved so much in their careers is a massive boost to the SoundClash DJs and will surely live with them for a long time.

Miller Genuine Draft's Steve Arkley, DJ Mag's Simon Kelly and AfterCluv Dancelab's Pedro De Guzman make short speeches, before a golden envelope is passed to NERVO to announce the winners.

The suspense builds on the floor as NERVO reveal Mexico's Iker Azcue is the third place DJ, while Panama's Demo Santana comes second.

The dancefloor pauses in silence for a second as Mim pulls the winner's name from the envelope.

"And the winner is... Jaffer from Turkey!"

Confetti cannons explode above the stage and the whole dancefloor moves to congratulate the Turkish DJ, before he steps up on stage to receive his award from NERVO.

It’s a wonderful moment for Jaffer, who took a risk by playing a tech house set at a Vegas pool party. The risk paid off, and now he is 2016’s Miller SoundClash champion!

His first duty as winner is to perform at Hakkasan Las Vegas Nightclub!

The Miller SoundClash party arrive en-masse to Hakkasan Las Vegas Nightclub. The venue, which is the highest ranked North American club in our annual Top 100 Clubs poll, is illuminated in gold light as Jaffer takes to the stage.

Once again, Jaffer’s well-constructed mix of rolling tech house, punctuated with vocal hooks, wins over the Vegas crowd and sounds incredible on the renowned Hakkasan Las Vegas Nightclub soundsystem.

In a fantastic moment of solidarity, the other finalists join the judges in the crowd to support a well-deserved winner as he plays the set of his life on one of dance music's biggest stages.
