DAFT PUNK AND THE WEEKND ARE IN THE STUDIO TOGETHER

According to Republic Records’ Wendy Goldstein...

Daft Punk and The Weeknd are reportedly in the studio together  and we couldn’t be more excited.

A few weeks ago The Weeknd posted a picture of two Daft Punk figurines sat on top of a pair of speakers in a studio.

It turns out, Abęl Makkonen Tesfaye was actually giving us a massive hint that he was working with Daft Punk.

Confirmation of the news then came from Republic Records’ Wendy Goldstein, who was taking part in a roundtable discussion for Billboard Magazine about artists collaborating, and mentioned that Daft Punk and The Weeknd were in the studio together in the video below.

Speaking about artists collaborating, Goldstein said: “We have a session coming up in two days [...] with The Weeknd and Daft Punk. I’ve always been a massive Daft Punk fan, so this is the first time that I’m actually involved with an artist who is actually going to go work with them.”

It’s the first concrete news we’ve had that the French duo have returned to the studio since they released their grammy-winning album, ‘Random Access Memories’.

The million dollar question is: are they working on a new Daft Punk album or are they working on The Weeknd’s new album, or could it be both  no one really knows, but we can’t wait to find out.

Check out these soon-to-be-release Daft Punk action figures, we want some!
