No Multi Screen Support — this is a must in this day and age…
Summary
Ableton are steadily improving Live with each new update. Link is a great way for Live to become the hub of your studio and performing set-up. Coupled with Push 2 this is a hell of a package.

Propellerhead Reason 9

Reason 9 seems to be slowly growing up into a very professional package with each and every update.
Gripe
Still seen by a few as a beginners tool to music production.
Summary
Reason 9 is a fully-featured DAW that is shaking away its earlier reputation as being the go-to DAW for beginners with new and advance features, and a hefty compliment of sounds and plug-ins. There is not better Reason to jump onboard.

Bitwig Studio

Bitwig have started to build a cool following working with new partners to bolster their stock worth. Close integration with Microsoft’s surface computers take it to a new level.
Gripe
Still an unknown quantity and seem to be aligning themselves more closely with the PC world.
Summary
Bitwig are slowly and surely starting to make waves in the production world with their software and partner tie-ups. The future is definitely bright for these guys.

Mixvibes Remixlive for MAC

Bringing grid-based production and remix environment to the OS X format at a wonderfully-pleasing price point.
Gripe
Too soon to say if it will become a firm favourite with producers and DJs.
Summary
Bringing iOS-style production formats into the desktop environment, with great MIDI implementation. A fast and fun way to sketch out tunes.
