Grooverider Released

Drum 'n' bass don pardoned

Junglist hero Grooverider (real name Raymond Bingham) has flown back to the UK after being released from prison in Dubai. The Radio 1 DJ, often credited as being one of the forefathers of drum 'n' bass, was apparently pardoned by the Dubai Royal Family and released early from his four year sentence for cannabis possession.

He had served 10 months, after being sentenced to the stretch in February of this year. Grooverider had been arrested on 23rd November 2007 after 2.16 grams of cannabis were found in his luggage at Dubai airport.
