WATCH BOILER ROOM’S PANEL ON THE FUTURE OF UK NIGHTLIFE LIVE FROM FABRIC

Goldie, Emily Thornberry MP, Mirik Milan, Cameron Leslie, Artwork & more are set to speak...

Boiler Room are hosting a panel on the future of club culture titled Can Nightlife Be Saved? later today (20th September), which will take place live from fabric’s Room 1. It runs from 2:30pm to 5pm BST and, as DJ Mag are an official media partner, you can watch it via the live stream below.

Emily Thornberry, MP for Islington South and Finsbury; Mirik Milan, Amsterdam’s Night Mayor; fabric regulars, Goldie and Artwork; Alex Benson from Bloc; Dan Beaumont from Chapter 10, Dalston Superstore and (the now closed) Dance Tunnel; and Cameron Leslie, co-founder of Fabric will all be on the panel, which aims to discuss the continuing issue of club closures, after fabric became the latest victim when its license was revoked at a hearing earlier this month.

Last week, fabric launched a crowdfunding campaign to fight Islington Council’s decision, which has currently made just under £140k, with large contributions from a number of artists and key industry figures.

Shortly after fabric’s licensing hearing, Thornberry also issued a statement, criticising Islington Council’s decision to revoke the Farringdon venue’s license, whilst also branding the Metropolitan Police’s attitude towards the club “disgusting”.

Watch the live stream of Can Nightlife Be Saved Live? From Fabric below from 2:30pm to 5pm BST today, Tuesday 20th September here.
