Cops Raid The Fridge

Eleven people have been arrested for suspected drug dealing after 200 police officers raided one of Britain's longest running dance music clubs.

The huge raid by Metropolitan Police on The Fridge in Brixton, south London, was the result of a two-month intelligence operation into the club.

Cops arrested 11 people

Cocaine, ecstasy, amphetamines, and cash were seized during the raid on Saturday 15th April, which saw four men and two women arrested on suspicion with intent to supply class A drugs.

Hard house and hardcore night Polysexual was in full swing at The Fridge when scores of police burst into the club, blocked the exits, stopped the music, and turned the lights on.

The raid, codenamed by cops as 'Atuna', kicked off just before 23.30pm whilst the club was still filling up.

Chief Superintendent Martin Bridger, who led the raid, apologised to clubbers but said police would not tolerate drug dealers.

The Fridge's license is now being reviewed, and it is unclear whether the venue will be allowed to remain open.
