Bloc Party Vibes!

2009's Bloc Weekend is bringing the eclecticism to Minehead on the 13th - 15th March.

Wait now. Stop the press. This year's most eclectic festival line up has just popped into the DJmag inbox. Bloc Weekend is held in the fully indoor environment of Butlins holiday resort in Minehead on 13th -15th March and is set to seriously set the bar for this year's festival season.

Headlining the event, with their first show in ten years are ambient electronic masters Future Sound of London. Joining FSOL at the top of the bill is freaktronic overlord Aphex Twin. If you haven't gathered it already – this is a festival that shoots from the left of centre! These Goliath's of the scene share the line up with a whole host of heads both from above and below ground.

New addition Qbert will be joined by golden-voiced technofunker Jamie Lidell, dubstep lynchpins Skream & Benga, and techno maverick Green Velvet plus loads more...including an extra special closing set from Detroit legend Carl Craig! The five arena festival hosts rooms from Fabric's Dublime and Bristol's heaviest night Subloaded and caters for electronic lovers worldwide.

If you want to see a line up that sees dub pioneer Lee 'Scratch' Perry rub shoulders with Modeselektor, Kode 9, Beardyman, Drums of Death, Abbleblim and Rob Hood – and frankly who wouldn't? – then Bloc Weekend should be in your diary already.

Should you find time to relax away from the banquet of beats on offer, the Butlins mega-resort in Minehead has more than enough entertainment to keep your serotonin levels sky high! The complex contains the South West's largest water park, fun fair rides and luxury holiday apartments for the happy-camping red-coat ravers!

Check out our exclusive preview of the event in next month's DJmag including a free Rusko CD to preview his first ever live gig – also taking place at Bloc Weekend. His dubstep blend takes in bass-heavy cuts from Skream, Caspa, Rusko, Chase and Status and Kid Sister plus many more.

Bloc Weekend Tickets are a snip at £125 (price includes 3 nights self catered accommodation, access to all the arenas and the use of all onsite facilities). Check out Bloc Weekend for full details and some nifty videos of last year's event!
