Chase and Status Live Tour Spring 2010

London Drum and Bass stars embark on biggest live tour to date

Words: Bianca Mitchell

On 28th April, Chase & Status embark on their biggest live tour to date with 15 shows over April and May 2010. The tour will coincide with the release of the first single from their eagerly anticipated new album, out this August.

Following the massive success of their debut album ‘More Than A Lot’, Chase & Status, comprising of Saul Milton and Will Kennard, earned huge kudos as both a unique urban phenomenon and the biggest crossover act to come out of the underground since Pendulum. They were recently hailed as ‘The most exciting producers in the UK today’ by N*E*R*D front man Pharrell Williams, and interest surrounding the dynamic duo doesn’t stop there. In the past 18 months their production work includes some highly-praised remixes for Jay Z and The Prodigy’s recent comeback, collaborations with Snoop Dogg and more recently, work on Rihanna’s album Rated R. Whether it’s Drum & Bass, Hip-Hop or Dubstep, the duo’s versatility has ensured they’re at the top of their game throughout the most cutting edge genres.

They are now focusing primarily on their own label MTA Records, which takes its name from the initials of the debut album title as the guys plan for MTA to be equally genre-spanning. The first single from Redlight, ‘MDMA’ backed by ‘Electronic Chopsticks’ follows the success of his groundbreaking ‘Rock The House’ and is out on MTA next month. This will be followed by Nero’s debut for the label, the already massive ‘Innocence’ and ‘Electrons’.

Saul and Will had this to say about the tour –

“We’re really looking forward to getting out on the road and testing out our new material with the live band. I think people are expecting the new album to be full of big American featured artists, but in fact we’ve decided to keep it UK, for the most part. We just think there’s more than enough talent in the UK for us to work with, to help create what we hope will be a really exciting record...”

Featuring MC Rage and Andy Gangadeen on drums, Chase & Status Live is one show not to be missed.
