New Point Blank courses

Learn how to produce hip-hop and dubstep

East London based production school Point Blank has announced two new four week courses teaching budding music-makers how to create the hip-hop and dubstep.

Costing £325, they both feature unique one-to-one tuition from a pro music producer.

Paul Waller, amulti-platinum producer and remixer who has worked with De La Soul, Gang Starr and Naughty By Nature, heads up the hip-hop course journeying through it’s rich history with lessons on everyone from Pete Rock to J Dilla, Timbaland and Kanye West.

The dubstep course is headed up by Jonny Miller, whose releases for labels including Aquatic Lab, Sidestepper Recordings, K7 and Twisted Funk, make him ably suited to teach everything from deep dub sonics to how to create shining tech-funk syths.

Students on the courses work through exclusive weekly course material – which includes video tutorials, project files, audio resources and detailed course notes - before submitting an assignment which they receive one-to-one feedback for from a production expert.

Tutors also host a live weekly Masterclass where students are free to discuss anything from the inner workings of the music industry to technical issues.

The hip-hop course uses Logic while the dubstep course uses Ableton.
