Radio One’s Big Weekend is coming to Carlisle and the excitement is spilling over into the city’s premier club night Uber, who are putting together a double header of two awesome parties to keep the Radio One faithful dancing til dawn.
Now in its fifth year Uber has revamped Carlisle’s nightlife, bringing the international crème de la crème of electronic music down to this oft forgotten area of the UK.
Derrick Carter, DJ Sneak, Hot Chip, Nic Fanciulli and many more have all been selected to rock the core of Carlisle as part of Uber’s house music mandate, and now they have gone one step further. Uber will be throwing two parties either side of the BBC’s festival histrionics, the Saturday show being a huge festival after-party, and they are enlisting the station’s biggest guns to celebrate.
Uber debuts for Annie Mac and Kissy Sellout alongside a returning Pete Tong head up a smorgasbord of talent over the two shows, with support coming from pop dance crossover Calvin Harris (DJ set), electro kingpin Erol Alkan and current Midas man, Riva Starr plus more tbc.
Carlisle has never seen such a concentration of international DJ superstars in such a short space of time, making it a truly historic showcase for England’s most Northern city. With line-ups this big, roadblocks are a near certainty, so be sure to grab your tickets NOW to avoid disappointment.
