You may or may not have heard about the recent feud between Avicii and Leona Lewis that's extended onto Twitter but if not, here's the lowdown.
Avicii is a rising star of house tipped to have as much success as David Guetta, with the Swedish producer already having international chart success under his Tim Berg alias while also being signed to Ministry Of Sound
The bust-up started when Avicii and co discovered the similarity between Leona Lewis's 'Collide' and Avicii's ‘Fade Into Darkness’ (formerly known as ‘Penguin’), a track he has been playing in club for month, and for which Ministry of Sound had been looking for a vocal for, lining up various top songwriters for the job. It would seem, however, that one of the people to take a shine to it was Simon Cowell.
At the weekend, in a series of tweets, Avicii said:
“To answer everyone, the first time I heard Leona Lewis Collide was today. I didn’t produce it and neither me or my manager could approve it... I’m just upset for someone taking credit of our idea before I had a chance to release it... And for the time and effort that has been put into this by my manager and label.”
Now Avicii and Leona Lewis have clashed on Twitter.
Last night Leona tweeted: “When Avicii sent his track out to have a song written over it I totally fell in love with this version and i think he’s super talented x
“With regards to my song, Avicii was aware & agreeing publishing splits for himself and his manager.”
This morning Avicii responded to Leona, saying:
“Thanks for accusing me of lying and speaking on my behalf...”
Then he tweeted: “Since we never met or even spoke, please let me and my manager know who told you that and what confirmation they gave you.”
